The first task you are assigned is to determine which park your team will be redesigning.
1) To do this each member of your team will choose a park from

After choosing your park use the table below to get the length and width you will need to determine the perimeter. If you need help remembering how to find perimeter you can check http://www.mathgoodies.com/lessons/vol1/perimeter.html
2) Determine the size/perimeter of the park you chose.

Now that you now the size of the park you chose, use the information on the city park page as well as checking to google maps to
3) Formulate one good reason why that park should be redesigned.

5) After all of your team members have determined the size and reason to redesign their park, come back together.
6) Give each member of the team two minutes to show the size of their park in any manner they find necessary as well as describe their reason(s) for why the park they chose should be redesigned. (You could use a sketch showing perimeter, could be just the perimeter number or any other way you feel necessary to help your team understand its size.)
*To ensure you receive credit for this task please fill out this form on your park and submit to the teacher at the end of this task.

7) Based on your team’s findings decide together on which of the three parks is in the most need of your attention. If agreement is not reached within the time allotted by your teacher you will be assigned a park at random which you will use for the rest of the project.
*As you will need your reasons for redesigning this park when you present your proposal it is suggested that you write them down so that you have them later.
